Henry Charles Bond worked as a coach man for the Moore's, a very wealthy shop owning family. By 1891 he had set up his own business as a "fly proprietor". A "fly" was a one horse, two wheeled light carriage, so "fly proprietor" was someone who owned a "fly" and employed "fly drivers" for hire. The census showed that Henry employed at least one man.
